Removing Financial Barriers
Individual Membership Reimbursement for Children, Youth and those with Disabilities
Sometimes financial assistance is needed to get children, youth and those with disabilities back into sport or physical activity. We're committed to helping 300 individual members cover the cost of their individual AEF membership.
Other Funding Requirements
All applicants must be AEF members prior to submitting application.
Children and youth must fall between the ages of 4 - 18 years old.
For those with disabilities, funding is considered for those enrolled in programs or lessons that involve an equestrian sport or physical activity. Programs should include at least one session per week.
Applications
An application must be submitted.
Children and youth - Applications must include proof of financial need. A clear, legible, and current copy of pages 1 and 2 of your Canada Child Benefit (Statement) is required as proof of need.
Those with disabilities - It is recommended that applications are submitted prior to a program start date. Applications submitted where a program has concluded will not be reviewed. Applications must include proof of registration/payment in a program, lessons, Club, etc. A clear legible letter from a Coach, Club or Facility is acceptable.
Timelines
Your application may take 6-8 weeks to be processed. Please take this into consideration when submitting your application.
Funding Details
Funding is up to the total cost of an individual membership only and excludes any optional insurance products or AEF programs.
All approvals will be determined by AEF administration and budget consideration; a maximum of 300 individual memberships.
Disbursement
AEF will issue a ‘refund’ for the cost of the individual membership only and is payable to the original individual identified as the “payee” of the membership.
